The End of the World! An episode with frankly a very special place in my heart, because it was the one that made me go "yes I like this show, I like this show a lot".
YUP. fantastic episode. My favorite scene is the argument over where he's from -- and then the final scene, where he spills the truth about Gallifrey and she cheers him up with chips. ( My story in response to the ep).
A special highlight is when Jabe recognizes him as a Time Lord and brings tears of agony to his eyes. Whoosh. That was the true moment I fell in love with the Ninth Doctor, who will always be THE Doctor in my heart (even though Four was my first!).
The above icon is special because an artist has dubbed in the ruin of Gallifrey over the fiery wreckage of Earth. I love that icon. The two of them holding hands and the aspect of his body as he leans away. Goodness, the heartfeels. ;_;
When I watched this episode for the first time, I was still surprised by the silliness of the show. Somehow I had gotten the impression that DW was like BSG, which, obviously, IT IS NOT. Anyway, so I really enjoyed this episode because it gave me a better glimpse into what the show wanted to do with itself. Plus Rose is just so endearing in this episode, she was so easy to love her.
There is so much to love about this episode. Jabe, Toxic, the Doctor head-bobbing, the scene in front of the burning Earth, and the fate of the Time Lords.

And who doesn't enjoy a good rendition of Toxic?

And lol I adore Cassandra. Idk it's nice that there's occasionally a villain who hates the companion as much as, if not more than, the Doctor.
