This is definitely in my top ten Doctor/Rose moments, and it's my favorite Nine/Rose moment other than the entirety of The Parting of the Ways. Nine is my favorite Doctor precisely because the Ninth incarnation was born out of war and blood. The Doctor, at his heart, is a creature of compassion, and so he was in a body that was made for being the opposite of what he was broken and uncomfortable in his own body. Rose showed him how to put the solider away and be The Doctor again - watching him find the pieces of himself is the most amazing part of this bit.
"Uncomfortable in his own body" I like that. I think it's perfect. Even from the very beginning when the Doctor and Rose are in the Henrik's elevator, he's got his arms wrapped around himself and he's facing away. He doesn't even want to look at her. But then she talks to him and he just sort of begins to open up. And this happens again and again. Rose makes him open up, makes him more himself. For all his flaws, Ten is really a very logical next step. He's the same man, so he's still very repressed, but at the same time he's willing to take more chances

Also yes I love this moment and the whole episode. I didn't like Rose at first but I think it was around here that I fell in love with her kindness and the will to speak against the Doctor if needed to. (I don't know how I missed it on my first watch in episodes like the Unquiet dead.)
