In which Mikey is annoyed at Christmas...

I’m not a big fan of Christmas. Perhaps it’s because it’s in winter (which I’m also not a fan of) but for us single folks, Christmas is just a reminder of how you’ve not done as well as others. “Look”, it tells you, “you’ve not got a loved one to enjoy this with, no children to share the magic, aren’t you pathetic”

Oh it’s a magic time of the year ( Read more... )

I hear ya man, im afraid ive grown up and actually want to settle down now and i come to this realisation when? bloody christmas time! Ive got a general feeling of mopeyness and disenfranchise with life in general but ive forced myself out of it, seeing your post has made me feel better, and i wish you a merry non christmas, gusy like us are a catch, we'll end up with someone good for us, and either way, we both have awesome friends to feel the love with.

I think I just needed a rant to get it out of my system. Feels good. Oh and for the record, I'm advised against feeling my friends love nowadays after the incident with Sambuca.

I think it would be better to be single at Christmas anyway. Imagine if you couldn't spend Christmas together with your partner(s), and how much you'd miss them, and how much that would suck.

Yeah, single is better for that.

Yeah, that would suck big time(hugs honey).

I'm not sure single is better though, just different. It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all, this is true.

But it's always better to have loved and be loved. Even if at a distance. I would take that over an empty heart any day of the week.

But yes. Hugs hon.

Sometime, should I find myself single over Christmas, I will invite all my single friends to join me for the day and festivities.

You can't have an empty heart if you love your friends :) Hugs for you too.

I'm in a similar position and despite the fact that i am spending christmas with friends, I think everyone there is in a couple and with their other half.

I don't like christmas either, and 'jumped up toy advert' is a great way to describe it.

Normaly I'm a huge big kid about this season. I love the sparkle the fun of buying things just to know someone will smile when they recieve the present. I'm not in it to get things back as people often worry when I give gifts its just the me who loves making people happy. This year though I have total apathy. I have a christmas tree up but so far just havent bothered to decorate it, and franky I'd rather this whole thing went away! Sorry to join the rant. I think it might be the having been rather ill and still feeling like I've totaly had my stuffing removed. If I was a bear I'd definatly need to go back to the bear factory for a stuffing refil!

"Having the money spare in your bank account" is a good excuse to get a scalextric set.

Just so you know...
