The New Criterion had it right: when was the last time you heard anyone call her Hillary Rodham-Clinton?

It's sad - I read how when her husband was first campaigning for political office, both of them got a lot of flack for her keeping her maiden name, and she basically was pressured into changing it.

I can sort of sympathize - no political advisers, just a few disgruntled in-laws who don't understand why I wouldn't want to change my last name (me, I saw, screw em ;-))

I'm sort of an old-fashioned sort myself, though my mother kept her maiden name (always causes wonderful confusion). I don't imagine the Rodham plays well with her lunchbucket base.

Actually, Fox News refers to her as Hillery Rodham-Clinton or HRC quite often.

A tactical decision, do you think? ...If so, and she gets the nomination, I expect we'll hear McCain dropping a lot of Rodhams in the debates.
