Sep 21, 2008 16:46

Who doesn't need a bit of rest and relaxation? I was having a bit of a rough week, and I'm sure some of you have too, so I thought 'Why not have a lovely burst of relaxing D/D fics?'

I've gathered some prompts from other members of doctor_donna  and myself, and we've got a lovely list to choose from; Let's get started!

Prompt: Donna and the Doctor do some stargazing

"And there," the Doctor points up towards a cluster of stars, "is Sirius Seven." They are sprawled out on their stomachs in the grass, next to each other. It's night on this nameless planet; twin moons give them the only light they need as they watch the stars.

The Doctor's trainer-clad feet are in the air, waving about as he speaks. "Or, as you might put it: Planet of the hats!"

"What? Really?" Donna squeals. "There actually is a Planet of the hats?"

"Well. They don't go around calling it 'Planet of the hats', but for all intents and purposes, yes."

"Brilliant!" she says and laughs.

"It is quite brilliant, isn't it?" the Doctor says, and there it is, a real smile, one that reaches his eyes and transforms his entire face ( ... )

Thank you! I'm especially glad that you thought it was a bit sad, because I've been thinking it's a little too cutesie.

Thanks again for taking the time to comment. :)

I can just picture them so clearly here. Such a sweet moment with lovely bits of contentment.

Oh, the last line made my stomach clench just that tiny bit, because of that eerie feel of what's to come.

This was just so spot on and beautiful:

"They both know it's not possible. If nothing else, she will grow old and die long before he does. But it doesn't matter, that's not what it's about. It's about intention; about the underlying meaning... it's about saying forever and meaning it with all of her being."

Thank you! Eeeee, I'm so happy it worked for you. It sort of came about from a discussion with a friend about how I was not at all bothered by Donna saying she would stay with the Doctor "forever" (in The Doctor's Daughter), even though I don't usually like that kind of thing. Thank you so much for leaving such nice feedback!

Thank you so much! :D I wasn't going to post it at first because I'm not that comfortable writing Donna yet, but I'm making an effort to become braver. :-)
