Part One - Meeting.

The Doctor looked at the young woman and nodded. Elizabeth had listed pretty intently through his usual shorthand description of the TARDIS and how it traversed through the various dimensions. It had been an interesting exercise for him, having to translate the concepts not just to human concepts, but antique human concepts.
Escaping from the ship Elizabeth had called the Black Pearl had been simple. The Doctor had gotten a quick peek at the crew of the ship that had been crashing against the TARDIS, and they hadn't seemed all that supernatural to him, but there was something definitely off about them. Certainly, they hadn't taken kindly to the police box disappearing before their eyes. But between Elizabeth's insistence on getting away and The Doctor's need to find the mysterious power source, leaving was the best course of action.
He looked at the scanner. "Yep, just like we were hoping. Deserted little island, just right for getting our bearings without being bothered by those--" The Doctor made air quotes with his fingers-- "those 'cursed' pirates." Opening the door, he held up a hand against the bright sunlight and gestured for Elizabeth to come outside with him.
