So, today is Valentine's Day. A day for cynical marketing strategies, crushing disappointment and peptic indigestion love, romance, and all things fluffy.
And since nothing says love like Doctor/TARDIS, I bring you a small tribute to their timeless devotion, in drabble form.
The Doctor stroked the TARDIS console, his fingers tripping over dials in a loving caress. 'It's just you and me, babe,' he cooed, as the time rotor shifted softly up and down.
Dates lose their meaning when you travel in time and space, shifting between millenia in the blink of an eye, unhindered by the ticking of clocks or the passing of calendars. Yet this time, this moment, was for the Doctor and his TARDIS alone. Companions came and went, aeons passed, civilisations grew and fell, yet through it all the two of them remained together, devoted and true.
The TARDIS hummed as the Doctor gently tapped her extra-sensory dimensional regulators, tripped her vortex control switches, and turned the galatical hyperdrive modulator. Round and around the console he danced, deftly pushing all the right buttons with practiced hands, showing all the capability of a concerto conductor and the attention of a lover.
This was their time, their special moment as they tripped through the stars as one, an eternal Valentine across the ages. The Doctor sighed as he leant across the console, utterly content, and pressed a soft kiss to the time rotor. The TARDIS swung them both across the universe, engines running smooth and true, and the lights on her console changing colour, illuminating the Doctor's features in soft, loving pink.

*sigh* The TARDIS is so lucky. You can bet the Doctor doesn't give her a bag of M&Ms and tell her he's still waiting for Amazon to deliver her present.
