Hello people!

Happy Memorial Day! To be quite honest, I don't know, like, anyone that does anything in celebration (or whatever) of this "holiday" (can it even be called that? isn't it to remember fallen troops? "holiday" seems like an insulting title). Do any of you, my readers and friends, do anything for this day? I don't.

So, I got up in time to ( Read more... )

I don't do much on Memorial Day... I usually have some sort of reflection on war and our troops and veterans and how I feel about America... I didn't do that much this year. I think I wore myself out on Veteran's Day, since it was Kurt Vonnegut's birthday and he died last year and... yeah...

i always thought armistace day was the eleventh of november at 11:11... hmmmmmm

Ahh, I see. I guess I'm just not all that Patriotically-minded, lol. Aww, Jen! That's depressing.

I definitely wouldn't know, lol...

Ooohhh, patriotism... I suppose it depends on how a person defines patriotic. I'd say I'm patriotic, even though I don't agree in the slightest with today's administration or the direction our country is headed. In fact, I quite hate America today. But I find our history as a society and the insides-and-outs of our governmental system fascinating. So it all depends on the definition... ha ha...

LOL! Indeed, it does. Adam would say you're un-patriotic if you don't support the President. *rolls eyes* Ya know, he may be cute, but sometimes his beliefs astound me.

Honestly, I don't think I'm all that patriotic. Some things in American history, I think are great and fascinating, like you. But I don't like *most* of the stuff that happened here and I *hate* today's America as well. So, I wouldn't really call myself patriotic. I think patriotism means to have pride in one's country, and as of now, I simply don't.

We don't have Memorial Day, obviously, being in Canada and all ... but we did have the May 2-4 weekend last week. Technically it's in celebration of Queen Victoria's birthday, but people use it as an excuse to get drunk (as in, a 2-4 of beer).

Ooh, I saw the new Indy movie, too! I agree with what you said about it, although I spent almost the entire film thinking someone had just read Chariots of the Gods and really wanted to make a movie out of it.

I completely forgot Tim Meadows was in that! Cool.

The name 'Percy Kittens' still cracks me up. I'm not sure why. It's just funny.

It totally is. And I think when he appears as "P.K. Winsome" on TCR, that's what P.K. stands for, lol. I wish Tim made more TCR appearances...he hasn't been on there in, like, a year.
