First... I have to let someone know that I do NOT enjoy ice skating on sidewalks when wearing hiking boots, particularly when my back has been acting up anyway...UGH ( Read more... )

holy crow. Flip a coin. It's a win-win.

Bettie gets my SF girls & you get to choose between these two. *is jealous*

On a separate note, NYC may be in my future - kinda got headhunted by AT&T's UVerse cable people. Got a 2nd phone interview coming up. Might have to hit you up for some advice from a local, should it come to that.

Have fun with whatever you decide to do!

Well, I'll see what TKTS is offering.

That's cool on the job front, if you are in the mood to switch coasts. ;-)

I'm not currently a local (and according to most New Yorkers, never will be, even if I live out the remainder of my days there...), I will be back shortly, however this weekend is just a quick trip up and back for work stuff.

Guys and Dolls is a better show in general.
I have heard not-brilliant things about Pal Joey. So I'm going with team G&D.

See, I've heard not good things too. Which puts me in two places...

a) it's stockard channing
b) it's unlikely this show will ever get this kind of production again
c) G&D is bound to run longer, right?

I'm torn, going off merit of show... hands down would be G&D. if it weren't stockard channing, it would be G&D, but I'm intrigued. Hmmm.

It's true, Pal Joey is likely to fall into obscurity. And Stockard is supposed to be good.

I know I wanted to see it and will not have opportunity. You can't see 2 shows?

I have a friend who saw PJ and thought it dated. G&D has a stellar cast and such great music...I think I'd see that and rent WW to see Stockard. BS
PS: Is Forbidden Broadway still there? I'd see that again in a naonsecond. It was soooo funny and is closing for good.

I like Forbidden Broadway, but a) i don't know if it's still running and b) if I only have time for one show, that ain't gonna be it.

The only reason I'm scared about G&D is that I can't picture anyone but Faith Prince as Adelaide, and I really really want to like Lauren Graham. I don't want to ruin my appreciation for Gilmore Girls, which makes not a lick of sense, I know, but still.
