Do you have my office bugged or something?! I swear this is the exact rant my partner and I do almost every day! We have actually instituted a charge for doing the paperwork that gets paid up front

Oh, good, it's not just me. *sigh* That is both depressing, and reassuring.
Yeah, I forgot about the "they told me I need this test, but you have to order it," or "they scheduled me with another specialist, but told me you have to complete the insurance referral." I have one of those in my inbox today--seen at immediate care center, who told her she needs a lower-extremity Doppler, but they can't order it, they haven't sent any records, and I don't even know what the complaint is. For all I know, she'll be dead of a pulmonary embolism or have had her toes fall off from gangrene before I get the records, because I have no idea what she has going on.
I'm just emotionally scrubbed-out by the liver transplant patient today, so the past several months of aggravation that has been threatening to bubble over has just melted the last little bits of my will to do this anymore. I really need a vacation from being needed for a few minutes.
Nah, I usually can tell the difference between a refill request and an auth request--easily discerned by whether I recently sent a refill over, of course

And about the content of your post: I am so sorry that things are so... infuriating and stupid and silly and did we mention infuriating. My hands are tied, other than that...
I got stressed out just reading this! (I fill out my own FMLA paperwork though! because when I get these in the ICU I know they're gonna be out for a loooooong time.)
