Yes indeed. The word "epic" has been trivialized, but in its original sense, it certainly fit the Lensmen books.

The use of the word “Tellus” for Earth I have never heard adequately explained (nor seen elsewhere), nor its universal application in this story setting. No one ever says 'Terra,' and I'm not sure they even say 'Earth.'
