In the comics, this was a dream Blade was having, and some jerk woke him up just before he finished killing Edward. Presumably someone liked that scene and did some Photoshop.

Better stake both of 'em, Blade, just to be on the safe side. She could be infected.
Also, it would save us from some really terrible acting.
