For the record, this quite similar organization exists:

Hah! I wonder if a Jack Smith ever snuck in there under false pretenses just for the perks.

You know, Doc, if you friended me you'd see all this stuff.  It's not your policy, I know; I'm just sayin'.  We've been corresponding the hard way here for YEARS now, yet you're on MY friends list, as you see!

From what I understand, props and costumes even today look rather shoddy and shabby at close range. During post-production, everything is tweaked and glitzed by computers. This was a big debate when some fans saw scenes being filmed of the first THOR movie and were dismayed that the the Asgard costumes looked so cheesy in real life.

Actually, it's reached a point now where I guess the entire movie has been tuned up by CGI to the point where everything looks the same level of not quite real. I miss practical effects. Some movies still use solid physical props (CABIN THE WOODS did this to good effect) but anymore we're just watching actors walk around on a bare stage and pretend they see battles or cities or forest fires.

With flat screen TV and HD, old Westerns and look even more low budget than when seen on on the old Black and White Zenith.

Switching suddenly fron an outdoor shot to inside the studio or heros are now making camp for the night in front of the obvious painted canvas backdrop next to the cardboard boulder.

So true! I have ADVENTURES ON SUPERMAN on DVD and I have to remember they were designed to be seen on a teeny little black & white screen. The switch to a stuntman or the way the wall shudders when someone closes the office door was not as obvious back then.
