The cover story looks pretty wild, too! At first I thought it was going to be a Solomon Kane story. Is it any good?

Sadly, I haven't read it. UNKNOWN had a high consistency of vary good stories, though.

Do you know, offhand, of any Van Vogt collections or collections of misc. stories this was reprinted in?

I read it in a 1960s paperback titled simply MONSTERS, full of van Vogt whackiness. "Not Only Dead Men" was another good one.

It looks like the last time it was reprinted was in 1976, so it seems the only way you can find it is via a used book dealer.
