Sometimes being a doctor is sad. It has to do with the job and the things that we/I have to attend to - deaths, cancer diagnoses, leaking valves, aneurysms that are about to blow up. Been there, seen it, had it happen within the last few weeks.

I don't know how you do it either, but you wouldn't be a caring human being if you didn't care or it didn't get you down.

Some folks, like my dad, couldn't be saved, but I've always been grateful to the wonderful people who cared and did everything they could. And I told them so, so there. *g*
