Though it's well-known and recommended by people who should know, I'd somehow never been to Basjoe. This shall not stand. Small, physically comfortable, and very chilled out, it may even replace my formerly beloved Goa, which has become a chain and raised the prices on its just-OK weed and redecorated to look like some kind of modernist Chinese ( Read more... )

I liked it just fine last summer; as far as I could tell it hadn't changed since I first visited in 1994. The weed was nothing special, but it always seemed so friendly and cozy.

NYC Diesel is my Amsterdam favourite, trippy as hell. Got it from the Dampkring IIRC.. also a little place with lethal stairs called Chocolata used to do a chcolate hash cake that got you so mashed it was like opium with more giggles.

Haven't been to the 'dam in years :(

Wait... does that mean the whole thing about coffee shops being closed to foreigners (a) isn't true, (b) is only a nod-wink sort of thing, (c) they don't mean YOU, Doc!, or (d) hasn't happened yet?
