I hate this. It's 4am and I can't sleep.
I can't shut my brain off.
This has become a more than uncommon occurrence.
I don't think I've had more than a month worth of good nights rest since May.
Why are even the simplest things so goddamn hard for me these days?

when I told my dr. that was one of my symtoms he sent me for a sleep study. you should consider talking to your Dr.

I'm fairly sure it's a depression thing, not an actual sleep disorder.

well, I'd recommend "the booze," but isn't an option for you... getting enough exercise?

I've been running on the treadmill when I get home from work about twice a week (trying to do more). I'm beginning to wonder if my aversion to the booze is a psychosomatic one, but the idea of actually testing that and being wrong is scary to say the least.

Also, consider writing in a journal before bed. when I was under a lot of stress and couldn't sleep because I couldn't stop thinking, it helped to put my thoughts on paper (actual paper)so that I could organize and look at my problems one at a time when I was able to. I didn't really expect it to help, but it did.

Ugh! When my anxiety makes it so I can't sleep I hate it. Have you tried soft mood music on in your room? Personally I'm someone who can't listen to music when I sleep because I really listen to it which is exactly why it works when I've got insomnia because I focus on the music and don't focus on my obsessive worrying. Beyond that though, I've got no real suggestions.

((((hugs))))

All the soft mood music I have would only exacerbate what I'm thinking about. I'll try to make up a playlist that shouldn't and give it a try though.

I know how you feel with the not being able to switch off thing. I think we should get an all night game together one of these weekends! That always helps me sleep the next day ^_^ and definately helps get your mind off of stuff.

Or you could write a story. Fantasy is always a fun way to escape reality.

I have unfortunately been feeling very uninspired lately.
