A small thing that I hate about Google Chrome

I'm not sure what to suggest; I've been using Chrome for a couple of years now on an aging laptop and a Windows platform, without ever encountering that issue :-/

This is not normal Chrome behaviour. You may have a combination of add-ons that's causing a crash on close or you may have a corruped user profile. Have you tried doing a clean re-install?

If anything, what I dislike about Chrome is that it expects and downright requires me to shut down the browser on occasion.

I've never seen that in Chrome either. I don't turn it off very often, but often have to turn it on after my laptop sleeps or hibernates or something.

I like Opera 12.16, keep it at 'cached images only' and with some intrusive things disabled. When I want to use a bling only site, that's why I have Chrome on most of the time.

I've never encountered that with chrome. What I have encountered (at work, where authority to add or remove software is vested in a company in the state capital) is that every single time I check my gmail in Internet Explorer, it nags me to install chrome and there's often a warning that whatever version of IE I am using is "no longer supported" and features may not be available.
