I'm keeping my fingers crossed as everthing appears to be going 99.9% absolutely f-ing fantastic with the American Heart Association. I extended my stay in Chicago last week to accomodate a second interview with them. If I had a Magic 8-Ball it would say "all signs point to yes ( Read more... )

Yay!

I won't jump the gun on congratulations just yet but am keeping my fingers crossed.

Letting your current employer know, even just as a courtesy, is a good idea. For a start a sound of tremendous shock in his voice as he gives you a reference might go against you ;)

Hehe...I know I should have let CAPA know I was looking for a job in another city...but I also didn't want to burn any bridges in case I ended up not moving. I've never had an employer actually call any of my references so this was somewhat unexpected. Oh well, I'm sure he'll be happy for me...I hope.

Your current employer might be sorry to see you go but I doubt he'll hold it against you.

I totally understand the burning bridges thing so I know how you were thinking. Not being really familiar with job applications yet I don't know how often references are actually called. Although the idea of people talking about me is unnerving.

Maybe think about how best to phrase it to him on Monday just to give him the heads-up.

And again, good luck. ;)

Wait, that may not be Faith Hill. I don't know what I'm talking about- the song wasn't written in the sixties.
