As a whole, MN isn't so bad. The worst thing about it is winter. In January, the actual temps get to -20, with the wind it feels like -50. That lasts about 2 weeks. Winter as a whole lasts from about December to mid-to-late March.
However, where you're moving (I google mapped it) is the fucking boonies, sorry. If you like the woods and camping and hiking and stuff, you're in the right place. If you want clubs and warm weather, you're going to be miserable.
Personally, I can't really see living anywhere other than MN, but that's because I grew up there and I've always lived near Minneapolis/St. Paul.
