[Matsuda stumbles over to the corner of the room where the karaoke equipment is setup. He nearly trips over the microphone stand, but clutches it last moment to regain his balance. Yanking the microphone from the holder, he lifts his free hand, pointing out at nothing in particular.]

Once Ritsuka has set foot in the room that she thought was her bedroom she falls to the ground in fits of laughter snickering at anything and everything that moved. To the female detective everything was distorted to hilarity. She regains herself enough to make it to a booth before she starts another fit of laughter.

"Matsuda! I haven't seen you since... well since I got here! what a relief for faces." She notes that Always_Ashes is here too. "A-chan!"

[Matsuda, on the other hand, is very confused, tilting his head curiously. He blinks a few times, simply staring.]

Ryuzaki? Did you get a makeover?

"Makeover?" L tilts her head to the side at the question pressing a thumb to her lower lip. "Ohh! Right right. different Matsuda. I am Ritsuka." trying to keep from slurring her speech when talking to him.

Oh! Nice to meet you, Ritsuka!

[He attempts to bow and nearly falls over in the process, clutching onto one of the stools. He decides to climb onto it.]

Is the room spinning?

::upon hearing the sound of a singing Matsuda, she immediately comes running. Of course, as soon as she enters the room, she's completely drunk. She stumbles up to the stage, leaning on it with a big smile::

Hiiiiiii Matsudaaaaaaa! How's it gooooooiiiiiing?!

[He stops singing, positively beaming the moment he spots Misa.]

Misa Misa! Wanna sing with me?

::climbing on stage, she grabs a free microphone and leans against him, throwing her arm around his back::

SOOO, what are we singin'?

[Curling his free hand into a fist, he excitedly throws it over his head.]

Um, hmmm.

[Suddenly he remembers he was in the middle of a song, and he points to the screen.]

It's 'What a Day for a Day Dream'.

[Cue off-key singing.]

[Well, this isn't good. Enter one Mikami, who also thought it was the library. He looks round the room and blinks, dazed.]

...oh. This again, I'm not - need to sit down.

[And he collapses quietly in a corner. He manages to be careful of his bandaged right arm, though.]

[Overtaken by dizziness, the whirl of activity, L slumps next to Mikami] I don't know you.

[Mikami blinks at him.] I don't know you either. Except you're an L.

[Light has never had alcohol. It's not the sort of thing a serious, intelligent student does, for starters, and the effects of intoxication make him wary.

None of this is going through his head as he makes his way to the kitchen, opens the door, and steps in. Except--

Light sways, suddenly unsteady, his eyes wide and slightly unfocused. The details of his surrounds are blurry, but he can still tell that wherever he is, he is not in the kitchen. Scowling, he blinks hard, which helps clear his vision a bit.]

I feel... drunk. [He sounds vaguely irritated, and doesn't realize he's spoken aloud. With extreme caution, he begins to make his way to the nearest seat.]

*Matt is cheerful and swaying, which doesn't seem to be much different.*

Fuck. Man, d'you think we need to deal with the hangovers, too?

That would be horbi... horribly unfair. And unpleasant. [Light seats himself in a booth with exaggerated care. This accomplished, he turns his attention to the task of speaking normally, although his gaze is more or less focused on Matt.] So yes, I should think we will. Why are you so happy? [Scowling. Light is not a happy drunk, apparently.]

I'm happy because I'm not a mass-murdering fuck, it's nearly New Year's, I'm drunk and I feel good.
