(Nate is still running from his parents sight. he runs into the room to find himself in green tights and a green jumpsuit type thing. he's a kid again too)

[Light looks up: he hasn't encountered you before. Or any Nears, as a child. He doesn't touch the embarrassing hat.]

(Nate looks at the Light.)

No.. Mama and Papa were doing something really innapropriate.

(For some reason, he cannot swear anymore. Nate realizes he's in an elf suit.)

[Jumping down from the counter with what looks like a package of ramen, he blinks.]

Your parents are here with you?

[As for "inappropriate", he isn't sure he wants to think about that too much.]

*L is still all of three years old, and wandering around, because the mansion is the perfect environment for tiny children to explore. Only now he seems to be stuck inside a Christmas stocking. He tries to shuffle forward, but loses his balance and trips.

He hasn't started crying yet, but there's some definite lip-wobbling.*

*Unfortunately, even at this age L was a little odd about personal contact; there are very few people he allows to handle him this closely. He begins wriggling in Light's arms, trying to get down.*

*Since L is stuck inside a large, fluffy Christmas stocking, his only real options for movement are sticking his hands above his head and rolling or wriggling, worm-like. The second option provides more accuracy in terms of getting to where he wants to go. For this reason, Mihael is currently faced with a teeny, bug-like thing with a shock of black hair and a bright red body making its wormy way towards him.*

*L sits up, pushing himself onto his haunches and then falling backwards, so he's sitting mostly normally. And staring up, of course.*

Hanging out in the kitchen, Nate thinks, will hopefully give him at least the illusion of having people to spend Christmas eve with. (Of course, he'll hide the motivations of his visit with the guise of getting food.) The costume the room gives him is comprised of a suit and top hat - Nate's best guess is that he's supposed to be Ebenezer Scrooge. Fuck.

He places his hands over his face, tilts his head back and groans.
