*The door is open, and it looks as though it might be one of the fresh-air spaces he's been longing for, lately; something to clear the fogginess that has recently invaded his mind. So he pokes his head into the room. There seems to be nothing wrong with it. He steps in all the way.*
[for his part, Light was aiming for the gym room. when he finds himself faced with a garden instead, he stops, then blinks, then cautiously steps inside, looking around. catching sight of Near, he heads over.] Well this is a new one. Noticed anything dangerous yet or does it seem to be safe?
-Mello is just making one of his daily trips to the kitchen for ice. Really, he knows where the room is. This isn't it. He stops in his tracks, staring.-
Oh, is it a staring contest? [eyeroll.] Are you going to avoid me now or something? Should I... insult you some more to return things to normal between us?
For a moment, he just flat out stares, before shaking his head in disgust. This mansion was pulling another trick. He didn't like it. At all. Blinking quietly, he scowls for a moment, before turning to leave. Obviously, this room is just a mindless distraction.
Though... voices rather distracted him. Familiar voices. He wanted nothing to do with them, either. He hadn't thought of a plan yet. Hadn't come up with a decent way to kill without being caught. Needed to figure it out before he met them again, or things could turn ugly.
N slowly lost himself in thought near the door, watchful eyes flickering about for anyone who looked mildly threatening. Certainly the crippled Near hadn't told anyone else about him...right?
He almost flinches at the words, eyes darting towards the Mello with a small frown. N doesn't recognize him, and yet he's so familiar that it's hard not to. Quickly, he pieces it together--after all, if the mansion could make people switch bodies, then he supposed it could de-age someone as well. He's not quite sure what to say to that though, eyes narrowing somewhat.

[and then Light breaks off, because he could swear that he hears a man's voice, frightened and pained and deeply familiar, calling his name.]
