Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed this. These kind of little pre-Wammy's House timelines fascinate me and this was a fun little project to play with that a little.

Oh wow, awesome work here! I love how you gave them all such vastly differing backgrounds, all of which fit who they grew up to be so well. Matt had such a normal, low-key life, and he turned out to be a normal person who was quite willing to glom onto something that seemed more exciting. Mello's life might have produced someone quite hardened. And I loved the scene with L at the end it was adorable. And oh god, Near building a specific castle, that's so like him. Over all, this was an excellent character study. Also you used a fan-fucking-tastic song. Loved this story!

Thank you so much! These are the little things I have in my headcanon for their backgrounds and I'm glad you liked the diversity. I think you're assessment of Mello and Matt are spot on and glad you liked the L and Near parts too. That and this song was begging to be used (I blame the second Death Note movie XD)
