Uilleand - Really unexpected levels of meaning

Uilleand, Uillean is the third of the fifth aicme - the forfeda. It is extremely thin in terms of lore. Erynn Laurie lists the kennings for this as "fragrant tree, fragrant wood", "great elbow, great cubit" and "juicy wood." Plants honeysuckle/woodbine (they are the same). I wonder if part of the greek fret form somehow stood in as a symbol for the gnomon? That would link the hook form into the straight form but would also be blind luck were it true.

As for the spiral, I wonder if that could relate to the Golden Mean - nautilus shell and all that? Maybe uilleand is the letter of sacred geometry or (more likely) another INTP rabbit hole:-)

In any case, I sincerely appreciate the vote of confidence.

I was just looking at an analemma (technical name for the double spiral)site, so our minds are linked up here. The graveyard sundial has a double spiral on both sides of the monument. Definite solar cycles going on here.
