And just an historical fyi, Henry's coronation outfit, as discussed in "Dress in the Court of King Henry VIII" was all in red, including a silk shirt (over a linen shirt). Red was for a symbolic reason, that my brain can't recall other than his father did the same. You don't have to do red, as I think gold, white and purple will be really nice on stage and will stand out more. I do look forward to seeing your work in a few months (eep, I need to get working on early hoods, and reworking my outfit, too).
