So here's the deal

Dec 03, 2008 20:24

Ive been off the cigs for a little over a week as of this writing, with varying degrees of success.

No promises that there wont be backslides and cheats.

Just FYI for everyone to encourage and work with me. No bootcamp style yelling, guilt, etc. please?

I had an aunt who smoked once a day and lived into her 90s. So spark one up! Everything in moderation. Oh, you want to quit? Nevermind. Your breath smells like an ashtray. The cig companies are controlling you, man. Ever seen a smoker's lungs after they were ripped from the smoldering corpse? Gross. What woman/man wants to sleep with a guy with gross lungs? And those chunks of plegm you hack up in the morning. Congealed snot or actual lung tissue?

totally.

Its not the death i fear, its the slavery to tobacco.

if i am gonna inhale the toxic fumes from burning vegetation, itll be for something better than tobacco.

or possibly a magic trick.

You could look into vaporization. The idea is that instead of burning, you use hot air to vaporize the nicotine from the leaves. Do that when you have the urge and gradually ween yourself.

Something that has worked for me is doing a lot of exercise so that the nicotine makes me feel sick and that minimizes my cravings. Then I stopped exercising as much and started smoking again. For a few months, I used a "one-hitter" to smoke a tobacco hit or two at a time rather than smoke an entire cig. Lets you carry on the psychological addiction while minimizing health damage.
