Just an observation, not a complaint...

While there are a few lighter/humorous stories, the exchange seems more inclined toward serious, angsty fics this year. It's as if collectively we're just a bit gloomy at the moment and in need of cheering up.

Via quietselkie, here is a cool pulp magazine cover generator. Fiddling with all the various options was ridiculously fun. Look what I made:

SO MUCH FUN. It makes me wish I actually wrote pulp SF just so I could make a cover of it!

Haha! I love those! I especially love the 'planet earth is blue and there's nothing he can do' tagline on the space oddity. It's wierd that I really want to read these books, isn't it?

I need to get on top of the exchange fics. I've read a couple, but haven't yet commented on them (I will, I promise:). I've mostly been riding the extended inclination to write and finishing up a short (very, very tawdry) one shot I started back in 2008 0_o. So much for getting the exchange over with and paying attention to my house, family and job. Haha!

That's a natural reaction from a Bowie fan. *g* When I was finished, I sat back and thought... someone should wrote that. Not as RPF necessarily ('cause that'd be a bit weird) but as a bizarre old-school SF novel.

Good on you for being on a roll! I'm envious. ;D

There are those who have talent and those who have inspiration. When those two attributes exist at the same time in the same person, magic happens. I've got inspiration coming out of my ass; talent, not so much.

But what the hell, it keeps me off the streets.

Tell me about it. I wish writing was as easy as merely coming up with the ideas is.

Haha, they should be. The Pulp-o-Mizer site lets you buy mugs and posters of whatever image you make, so there's that?

I was kind of tempted to get a print and frame it, for my own amusement. :-}

Oh good lord.

..........WELL. I *had* thought I'd known what my next big creative project was, but. Well.

I also feel pretty damn good about what I could do with the pulp-cover-bedecked Adventures of Tiberius and Hamilton Rogue.
