I had wanted to get this out before the new season preemed, so I'm really cutting it close.  But it's big, so It's in two parts.

It's probably a miracle I got this posted.

LJ was a bear and it's longer than normal and then I also went to Dragon*Con too in there and it's only a little more than a month since my last update, so I hope everyone's ( Read more... )

Yeah, I think a lot of their problems as a couple come from them not really understanding the other.

Just knowing he loves Clark, in this case, I don't think is enough. He needs to understand him.

Lex's epiphany regarding Clark was an important step. Clark is less a trophy to win now. Lex can understand more about Clark now, but he still isn't sure what to do about the situation he created and how it's put Clark into a bad situation. He's a bit clumsy still when it comes to that, but he will see that Clark needs to be convinced, wooed even.

Great part! It was really nice to find an update!

Clark is being his usual selfless, heroic self and now Lex is beginning to realize Clark's true motivations. I'm glad he loves him even more for them! I hope that'll help to change things between them forever, in a good way.

*Off to read next part*

I'm so glad you liked the update!

Yeah, I'm not sure Lex really understood why Clark had done some of the things he'd done before, but maybe that's not surprising.

He is a Luthor, after all. Empathy for others wasn't exactly a hallmark of his upbringing...

They're getting closer to coming into a better understanding for them both.

Lex's realizations and understanding about Clark was beautiful. Nearly broke my heart with how lost Lex felt not knowing where Clark was.

Ohhh magic has consequences

But good ones for Lex in this case feeling empathy with Clark's work

I loved the image of an exhasted Superman trying to save all those Tsunami victims and then coming home to an anious Lex

I don't think Lex would have agreed to buy Clark if he'd known about that ahead of time, but as an after affect, I don't think he minds in the end what happened.

I'm so glad you liked this chapter. It wasn't an easy one to write, I worked on that little bit with Lex worrying about Clark a long time, it just wasn't coming out right, then it did.

I think I got the right mix of stuff in there to show that Lex indeed had changed, even though he maybe doesn't recognize it yet.

Before the spell, Lex never would have worried like this about anyone...

Awwww.... {I'm saying that a lot}. These last three chapters were great. The aftermath of the fantasy, them thinking about things, Lex *feeling* stuff that he doesn't normally feel, and a major disaster to speed the realizations along. And Clark comes home at last. {{hugs both of them}}
