My thoughts on Who will be the American Idol...

May 20, 2008 12:50

I am not sure I've ever watched the show as closely before as I have this season.

Or, that is to say, that I've actually watched it this long. I usually only watch the auditions and I must admit that I haven't really watched it much the last few weeks unless David Cook is on the screen. Let me warn you right now, I'm rooting for David Cook tonight ( Read more... )

Yeah.. well, I think Cook has a dorky haircut. :P

Actually, I do think he has the edge when it comes to versatility primarily because he's got a bit more maturity under his belt. He's had some incredible performances.

But..um.. I still want David A. to win. I love his voice and his potential. *hides*

No need to hide, but I love David Cook. He had my support early and I've liked him since the auditions...

I'm sorry, but I just don't think that David A. has what it takes to make it long term in the music biz. Yeah, he's got some potential and a very pretty voice, but there's no depth and no experience. Maybe after he gets more experience and grows up a bit...

*hugs*

Whoever wins, I'm sure we'll get some good performances tonight.

I'm just poking at you. ;)

I have only watched the actual show a few times, but I do try and watch all the performances the next day. I don't have the patience for all the dragging out they do.

One of my best friends here is a huge fan of the show (she goes to the concerts too) and she's a big fan of David Cook. I give her grief about him too. *g*

Well, I will probably watch it on TiVo. I loathe the announcer guy, can't think of his name right now.

He's stupid and adds nothing to the show. I'll fast forward through him and just watch the judges comments and the performances...

I'm with you on the DC support. He literally had me at "Hello"...and then he takes other songs that I already loved and made me love them more "Always Be My Baby"...not to mention I tend to root for the Rockers anyway even with my Motown/R&B upbringing.

David Cook's had a few missteps, but over all his performances have been far stronger than David A's.

I really hope he wins.

And he so had me at "Hello." I hate that song. It had been a pretty song, but it had been played to death when it came out and I got sick of hearing it.

David made it new again.

Yay! I'm a David Cook fan, too!

I wouldn't be heart-broken or anything if David A wins because the boy can sing. The way he gives almost every word sung a flourish bugs me, but he does have talent.

But I'm always excited to heat what David Cook will sing.

I love David and both boys are talented, true.

It's a real contest, probably, but still.... In looking at their performances again online, I really think David Cook is the more talented performer.

His voice isn't as pretty, maybe, but he's got some depth and experience. I actully think they'd do David A. a favor by voting for David Cook. He's just too young and seems so innocent... I'd hate to see what winning would do to him.

I have to say David A brought it last night, and since the top 3 get to make albums, it doesn't matter who wins,David Cook still gets to put himself out there and if he's supposed to have a long career in music, he will. I just think his sound has been done over and over and I'm just tired of hearing it on the radio.

True..

Archie did do a better job last night, so he'll probably win, but I still like Cook better.

*shrug*

He didn't do himself any favors by his song choices last night. Too bad.
