It was a nice day, warm and sunny as always. The log cabin was just near the beautiful woods.

Ori's body was on a slab a few yards away from the house. Dlet stood in front of it, wearing her dark blue mourning dress.

((gotta sleep, feel free to keep posting. Or something. Will do cremation post when I'm conscious.))

A troop of deities appear, standing close to the slab with their heads bowed and eyes closed. Tim steps forward, laying a bouquet of brilliantly coloured wildflowers at her feet. He pauses, trying to think of something to say.

Dlet nods at Tim and steps over to the dieties. "Sorry for the delay," she said quietly. "I just...didn't want to...this..." she trails off and shrugs.

One of the goddesses steps forward and squeezes Dlet's arm lightly. "I understand. We were all very sorry to lose her, and your loss is even greater than ours. She was a wonderful person."

She ducks her head in a short nod. "She was." She bites her lip and looks at Ori's body. She shakes her head. "Which...who are all of you? I know Tim, but..."

Alec shows up, dressed in black armor. He goes over to D'let and gives her a hug.

She returns it. "Nice armor." She smiles weakly.

Terra, having only just heard of the services in the Nexus, hadn't had time to get dressed up in interest of getting to the funeral as quickly as possible. She'd never quite been as close to Ori as Dlet had been, but they were friends... besides, she figured Dlet might need another friend there.

She couldn't bring herself to say anything, except a silent Good-bye for Ori, which still didn't seem like enough. But hopefully just being there would fill in what she couldn't say.

Dlet smiles and waves at Terra. "Hi Terra. Good to see you."

"I figured I had to come, Dlet." She walks closer and offers a hug.

Kal walks in wearing his costume. Giving a small smile to Dlet.

"Yeah. Has." He moves to give her a hug. "Should have contacted me. I would have helped to set this up."

Dlet stood in front of Ori, taking a breath. "So, um. I guess...we're going to start. You can say goodbye, or whatever you want, and then...we'll let her go." She sighs with a few flames, demonstrating just how she plans on letting Ori go.

"Ori was...she was home to me. So many times people asked about what was home to us, and for me it was always Ori. I lost one home, and found her. Even when she lost her mind and was completely batshit, she knew I was there for her. Heh, that was around when she started calling me 'lettuce'. 'Letty-let-lettuce'." She smiles shakily and rubs her eye. "Everything about her, dammit, I miss her." Her throat catches. "And...and now I'm going to stop before I completely break down." She walks down, whispering, "Bye baby."

If Terra had even tried to say anything, it wouldn't have come out. She'd already lost one friend. Coming here was probably a bad idea in the first place, but... what kind of friend would she be otherwise?

The only thing she trusted herself to say, and even then it was whisper quiet, barely inaudible, was "So long, and thanks for all the cookies." At the end, she was nearly only mouthing the words.

She'd barely finished before she had to step away from Ori's body to get control over herself again.

She wraps her arms around her friend again, holding her tightly and taking deep breaths to avoid bursting into tears.

Tim stood by the body and blinked a few times. "Ori was good at being a goddess. She was never really comfortable with the responsibility of the position and she worried a lot about whether she was doing a good job or not. She always did, though, and she was good at it." His voice cracked slightly. "I'm going to be a poor successor to her. Nobody could match her sweetness and goodness of character. Wherever she is... it's not good enough for her."

He stepped back to the other deities.
