Okay, this makes me a complete nerd, but the soil here in North Texas is the worst! I'm not even saying that as a bias, it really is, I've been to plenty of seminars about how to stabilize the soil with lime and such for road base and structure foundations...seriously the worst clay possible for trying to build anything. That's why so many homes have cracks and foundation problems, why there aren't basements, why retaining walls are needed inso many areas, and why the roads are crappy. Oh and why I tripped and fell running because the sidewalk was jacked up a year ago.

1. ha, I love that you bring up your biff because I would totally have pretended it had been forgotten by all or otherwise denied it.

2. I've been TOTALLY thinking you would love to see the crazy circus of dump trucks and men in orange. Last night when I passed, they were having a meeting in the big whole in the side of the hill where the dirt USED to be.

3. I'm sad there's no hope for a basement in my future.
