The limo pulled in front of Chloe's building a half hour after the charity ball had started. It was expected that the host wouldn't show up until later--it was his pattern. Her eyebrows rose and she laughed after a second, "A.C. is sweet, but no, he was more Lois' type." Granted, so was Oliver and apparently, he was hers too...

A faint blush appeared in her cheeks as she smiled and shook her head at the word 'date', sure she was kind of his date, although she knew it wasn't a date like that, so she made herself take a deep breath.

"Okay, I will make sure they get the right impression," she smiled again at him.

He grinned at her and wound his arm around her waist once more, guiding her over to a few people he needed to speak with. "Mr. Lawson, Mrs. Lawson." He smiled at the older couple. "Thank you so much for coming."

Mrs. Lawson smiled back at him. "We wouldn't have missed it, Oliver." She glanced at Chloe, and her smile widened a little.

Chloe glanced at Oliver and smiled at the woman, waiting for introductions and then shook her hand, "It's nice to meet you, Mrs. Lawson." She said politely.

"And it's nice to meet you, Ms. Sullivan," Mrs. Lawson replied, her eyes warm.

A few moments later, Oliver guided her away from the couple, grinning down at her. "I knew you'd be a hit."

As they walked away, Chloe smiled back at him and shook her head, "she was very nice." She told him with a shrug.

They had been talking to people for at least another half hour or more, some of them Chloe had heard of before, including a man who had worked for the Luthorcorp plant in Smallville a couple of years ago and had been her dad's boss, but unsurprisingly, hadn't seem to make the connection between them, Chloe didn't mention anything either.

As they walked away from another couple, she got another glass of champagne and smiled at Oliver, "I'm glad my shoes are comfortable, this would be painful otherwise."
