Oliver sat in the driver's seat of the car after placing the vehicle in the park position. His hands gripped tightly onto the steering wheel as he stared out the windshield at the mansion. His heart was already beating more quickly in his chest ( Read more... )

Oliver smiled a bit. "Yeah, I can give you a tour," he agreed with a nod, heading for the door. He led them down the hallway, opening the other doors, a little surprised that everything still felt so familiar even after all the time that had passed.

He paused outside the bedroom that belonged to him when he was a kid. "And this was my room." He opened it and stepped inside, flipping on the light. He glanced around, his gaze falling on the bow in the corner. A smile lit up his face. "That was my first bow. My dad gave it to me."

The flicker of something that Chloe thought was anger on Mia's face didn't go unnoticed, but she'd just save the information for later.

With a smile, Chloe nodded too, looking between them, going to the beach and watching them practice sounded like a perfectly acceptable way to end the afternoon, "let's go, then."

Oliver smiled and led the way out of the room. He couldn't think of a better way to end the day. Clutching onto his father's journal, he felt himself beginning to really relax. Whatever information he found out from the book he'd deal with.

Because he had family to help him.
