Providing more evidence that this has not been a good year for my family, my mother had to have surgery to remove her gall bladder due to stones. This was also why the earlier musing about Anime Festival Asia 2011 turned out to be moot anyway

Sorry to hear about the relative issues. Drama sucks not matter who it's coming from.

I'm glad to hear your mom is doing better. My mom had her gallbladder taken out too. She's a lot better than before the surgery. I'm sure yours will recover the same.
