One of my self-imposed rules was that if I wanted to get a gaming console (TV or handheld), I had to have a library of games available for it.
Now, I've been wondering if I should be getting a PS3. With it, I have come up with a completely arbitrary number of five games that I absolutely must have before I actually get the console. The problem is I can only think of two.
So, recommend some PS3 games to me! The following criteria apply, though:
- Standard preference listing: no sports/racing games, prefer something with a lengthy story, minimum of quicktime/reflex-heavy events. JRPGs, especially those featuring cutesy characters are great, if they aren't too grindy.
- I have no idea what the heck regional restrictions are like, so assume I'm getting something for the Southeast Asian region which allows English-language games.
- The game must not already be available on the PC. Because if it is, chances are I've already gotten it, or I'll get it sometime in the future. (Thank you Steam.) I'd be willing to change my mind for some cases, if for example the PC version has problems (Assassin's Creed 2? But I don't want to give money to Ubisoft for that).
- No requirements or extra awesome goodies in DLC, or indeed anything that involves Internet connectivity. I have problems with getting my PSP online with my home wireless (still haven't managed it), so I cannot guarantee I'll be able to connect with a PS3.
- No peripherals needed, other than the standard controller. Meaning, sadly, no Rock Band or Guitar Hero for now.
- Games that are not actually out yet are fine, as long as they have some sort of stated release date (in Singapore) so I can target my budget.
Now, the games I already want:
1. Final Fantasy XIII - Obviously.
2. inFamous - Because I heard it's close to Prototype, and I might be interested in something less massacre-y and more superhero.
That leaves three games at least. Preferably more.
Suggestions?
