I liked that Merlin finally told Arthur and not before he was about to die. I liked, too, that he befriended Mordred. Good job with this.

That's one of the things I wanted to fix -- to give Arthur the proper opportunity to think about the magic reveal and decide the right course of action on how to handle it. I thought how the show did it was a bit of a disservice to Arthur's character because he was near death and he didn't get the chance to appropriately consider Merlin's admission. If Arthur had rejected Merlin in 5x13, then he would have realized that he would die being angry with Merlin. Of course Arthur wouldn't have wanted to feel that before he died. The only choice really was to make peace with Merlin and accept him -- leaving Arthur with the knowledge that he didn't destroy a longtime friendship before he died
