Yes, I do think the destiny talk will end up being one of my favorite Merlin/Arthur scenes of S3. I go back and forth on that idiot comment -- true, it's trademark Arthur...he can't resist saying that to Merlin. It didn't ruin the moment for me, but it didn't make me especially thrilled to have Arthur call Merlin an idiot. I like the similar moment in Last Dragonlord better because at least Arthur didn't call Merlin an idiot there, and the general solemn, serious tone remained throughout. Merlin had just lost his father and even if Arthur wasn't aware of who that man was to Merlin, I see the writers thinking that it really wouldn't be a good idea to have Arthur insulting/teasing Merlin at that particular point in time

I liked the destiny talk between Merlin and Arthur. Clearly Arthur can't handle his own feelings and has make joke or insult to make things 'okay'. It's a little annoying that they can't express their feelings but with Uther as father you see how he turns out this way

I loved the destiny talk too. And yes, you're right. The jokes and insults Arthur makes are getting a little annoying. Unfortunately, yes, with a father like Uther...Arthur can't exactly help himself. Sometimes the little jibes/insults can be all right, but then other times...it makes me wish for the magic reveal to come sooner rather than later. :(
Yes, the slow build of Arthur/Gwen is welcome after how the relationship was all "in your face" and rushed in S3. I think the writers have rethought how to develop that relationship in S3...a more gradual development is better in this case.
I hated the line "women and children are dying! Good!" Why good? Why does she not care about anyone more?Oh, I completely agree! Her answer to that line bothered me greatly. There was no back up to support why in the world Morgana would be okay with women and children being killed as a result of her actions. Just because she hates Uther isn't a legit reason for being happy about vulnerable, defenseless people dying. :\ The writers didn't think

I know what you mean. Sometimes it's just a little too much. A little too mean and little too hurtful. I don't think the writers know how to balance it just right. Arthur comes off looking like a jerk sometimes and he shouldn't IMO. I think tone it down a bit. I want the magic reveal now! It's season three, come on we can't drag this out forever. Arthur looks dumb, can't we at least have him thinking something is weird? I want to see Arthur protect Merlin's secret! There is you seasonal arch! Go to it writers

You know this part didn't have the same impact on me as it did at teh BFI. Whether it was because I had been so ridiculously spoiled or had been reading a lot of neagtive reaction to the first part I don't know
( ... )
I understand feeling underwhelmed by this part... I had a general idea of how things would play out, so that didn't help me with the element of surprise in watching 3x02. Though I did enjoy Merlin and Morgana's "I'm so plotting against you/I'm on to you" looks. Can you just tell the both of them are going to have so much fun together in Camelot? Well, it's more so how can Merlin sleep peacefully at night now knowing Morgana is lurking close? And Morgause too
( ... )
I think the element of surprise would have helped. The looks Merlin and Morgan gave each other though...a lto was passing between them. I too wonder how Melrin will be able to sleep with Morgana there in Camelot

I was pretty happy with this episode, even with spoilers, but I tend to be upbeat anyway.
