It's a vast improvement over the original Xbox, which I never cared for.
The PS3 and especially Revolution will undoubtedly be better than the Xbox 360, but I'm glad I went ahead and made the plunge. Xbox Live is unparalleled as far as online play is concerned (even though Mario Kart DS is by far the best online game out right now).
We'll see how I feel about it in the future, and if the game library ends up being as weak as the original Xbox's was, I can always sell it. But with all the research I've done and my knowledge of the games industry, it seems to me that with the 360, Microsoft is correcting most of the hardcore-gamer-alienating mistakes it made with the original Xbox, which is why I decided to take a chance on it. We'll see if I was right to do so...
