I don't think gay marriage will hurt my marriage... I don't think that's what most people think. I do think using the word marriage to describe an agreement between a gay couple cheapens the word and what that word stands for. If being sold out for Jesus and all He stands for makes me a "bigot", I don't really have a problem with that. Everyone has to choose a side (in everything). But I don't think you can jump to cry bigot at people just because they don't agree with you. The reason people don't understand the way Christians feel about marriage and homosexuality is because they have a poor understanding of, or don't care about, God's laws. They've probably also met a lot of pseudo-"Christians" and got a bad taste. I can be pro-hetero marriage and not hate gay people. Right? Hating would make me a bigot (not to mention a massive hypocrite). But just standing up for what I believe is right and true doesn't make me a bigot. I love God, I love Jesus Christ, but I don't hate homosexuals because of it. I'm not one of those people who

fuck. i had a huge response typed up and i lost it. let's see if i can remember what i had typed.
here'sthe skinny, it seems that more people are up in arms about the semantics of it all and less concerned with the actual union.
if two hetero-sexual non-christians are married, is their covenant as void as two homosexuals?
jesus came to fulfill the old testament law and replace it with two new laws. i agree with moby, nothing he spoke of mentions homosexuality. as for paul's writings...if i claimed that god spoke to me and wrote another book of the bible saying homosexuality is ok, would people take those writings to heart 2000 years from now?
as for the rapists, wife-beaters, and pedophiles. most of these actions are inherently despised by most cultures, not just christian. nextly if you look at who was actually in jesus' social circle, you would see it would be these type of people. he took the worst offenders and used them to do his work.
and in closing, god hates polyweave cloth, tattoos, and shrimp. especially the
