I am a big fan of Jeanne Kilbourne since forever! I thought reminders like this are important.
(Sorry I am posting from my side account, but I am working on my fanfic. :P

Peace!

I've been doing Photoshop retouching for most of my career. It's very easy to make somebody poreless and to remove blemishes (I use the old programs because the new ones are a pain in the arse but a bit of airbrush, a softening filter, an eraser and some 'noise' added will do it) and then other 30% of the equation is lighting. Makeup, too, to a degree, but think about lighting. Full-on frontal lighting forgives damn-near everything. Side-lighting highlights skin texture.

So maybe that's why I don't care that I'm funny-looking and I don't mind my scars and crooked nose or whatever. I have to say I'm a bit annoyed that the epilepsy medication is giving me acne but I do what I can and forget about it.

If anyone wants to ramp up their self-esteem, work in retouching for a day or two and I guarantee you won't care what models look like any longer XD

Crooked nose, scars and all, I think you are very beautiful, my dear.

Thanks! :D I, uh, airbrushed all the photos people have seen of me. Force of habit. I take the shine off my face (I'm quite oily) and eighty-six the blemishes. Haha.
