My two cents. I never consciously looked for Mr. Perfect but happened to find him by being myself most of the time. Over the years we have discovered many differences and "not my type" traits in each other. But the love overcomes all that. So IMHO it all depends on how much you love each other. And this again is my personal opinion from my personal experience. Not to be taken as a general observation.
Well, I'm still single, so can't give any "final" advice.
But that won't stop me from suggesting :
(1) Try not to let the blaming influence you too much.
(2) If you think you have a reasonably good gut feeling about such things, trust it. If you're makin too much of a compromise, chances are your gut knows it.
