I did worry, for some odd reason that is not connected to anything logical, about LJ disappearing suddenly in a virtual puff of binary code, or about them, alternately, shutting down. And, of course, I would lose everything here- some of it is silly, but still... some is important.
I did archive my journal once, two years ago. I need to do that again and take it offline and even print it out. I trust hard copies, being a print writer and all. There is something so nebulous about all this stuff on a computer screen only.
I am getting used to Facebook and MySpace though I did not warm to them for a long time. There is nothing on either I really need to keep, but I will take your warning to heart if there is, and do a backup.
Most of the stuff on that site is pretty silly, though I do connect with people, which is nice. That is the good part. I am annoyed at their ads though, although I just ignore them as best I can.
I am on Tribe but have not been there in a long time, I should revisit them.
