Yeah, normally when I hear her show on the radio I consider it to be softball geekery, but this bit of reporting is something I'd be calling her up to bitch her out about as just plain fear mongering.
I'm sure some clueless halfwit came to her to "report" this "danger" and used some line of fuzzy logic to convince her that if nothing else, parents should talk to their kids about drugs.
Of course, a sane person with a firm belief in science would say "These products are all snake oil. Period."
Reminder: Just because something is possible in a laboratory environment doesn't mean the crap you're buying online for $60 is anything other than crap.
