Yes, I've now been reminded that there is a scene right at the end of The Time Of The Doctor where Clara hangs up the phone. So it does fit together, and I should be applauding Steven Moffat for that rather than criticising him. :-)
Fascinating reading this just after a FB thread of 85 comments about what a trio of viewers hated about it. I agree more with your take, though I hadn't detected any difference in Vastra and Clara's accents, found Clara rather over-perky, and the kiss I found a bit uncomfortabl y leering.
Clara's accent isn't (to my ears) strong, but she's definitely North English and I think from somewhere in Lancashire. Hence 'Carlisle' being the opposite of 'bliss' in Hide, although I think she's a bit south of Cumbria.
The Doctor says he's somewhere in the region of 1200 to 1400 in 'The Impossible Astronaut' before he dies, meaning that the younger one spends a couple of hundred years before heading to his 'death'. So he spends about 600 to 800 years on Trenzalore in 'The Time of the Doctor'.
Yes, although there are other gaps in his timeline - when he's popping in on Amy and Rory occasionally, while he's moping in London, and between his visits to Clara - when you could, if you wanted, fit a couple of centuries of ageing.
