Hey. Once again, I've been AWOL from LiveJournal. It's just been a sucky couple of months, generally feeling icky physically, government going downhill into the sewer, my cat (Piet) died ( Read more... )

That's sacrilege - David Tennant has a discernible neck. ;) But yes, I can, bizarrely, see Giles as a Companion, in any number of ways.

Well, David Tennant has obviously spent some time being stretched out on a rack in order to make the separated-at-birth vibe less obvious. *g* And he may well be (much) cuter, too.

Giles as a Dr companion - it really fills in some character backstory very nicely, doesn't it. Though there obviously would be a lot of "we'll have to agree to disagree" and/or holding one's tongue during discussion, since a born'n'bred Watcher would *know* that those supernatural beasties exist, whereas the Doctor always insists there's some "logical", "scientific", "aliens among us" explanation. At least, my memory sez he does which is, of course, never a guarantee of accuracy.

All you need to do is add some waffle about 'other dimensions' to the whole Hellmouth thing and it's workable, I think. Though I do wonder what on earth the Doctor would make of the kitten-based demon economy.

As in "magic works in this other dimension" thingee? Though actually, the Doctor has been a lot less hard-assed about hard science in these new series(es), so maybe his time with Giles opened his mind a bit?

I dunno, but I prefer not to think about it myself. Because, um, ::whispers:: I think they're eating those kittens! *cries*

OMG you're so right about Lis now and Mary McDonnell.

I have SUCH a crush on Elisabeth Sladen and have since I was NINE. Mmmmmm.

I actually thought, given the characters' personalities, that the claws-bared, protecting-turf response from BOTH Rose and Sarah was totally in-character...and I LOVED that they came to their senses quickly.

And, my favorite thing? "Aberdeen."

Also, the total cracking-up-pointing-and-laughing bit? David came in with a silly mustache drawn all over his face with pencil, so their hilarity was partially from the gag. ::loves::

It was very weird, going from watching BSG to DrW - I kept glancing up at the screen and seeing Sarah Jane talking and just *flail* total mind confusion ( ... )

how dare you! David Tennant is yummy, and freaky-eyted-guy is, well, freaky eyed guy - very well cast in Sin City, I thought ;p

Also *hugs you* - good to have you back amongst the posting.

But-but- I *like* the freaky-eyed guy. At least as Frodo. Those BIG liquid eyes. Though it must be disconcerting to see him playing a normal human type after LotR - I'd keep thinking "hobbit" whenever he was on screen.

I do think DT is much cuter, though.

*hugs* I'ma gonna try to stay around this time. ::crosses fingers::c ::knocks on wood:: ::etc::
