Apartment

Yesterday I saw the most beautiful apartment, it's litterally across the street from where I work, it has a wall of windows, tons of natural light, easily 20 foot ceilings, a big brick wall, basically a classic loft style apartment. It's 550 a month plus electric, 1000 sqft (300 sqft more than Gavin's similarly priced place a few blocks away), I ( Read more... )

If only I lived in KC ludovico February 24 2006, 17:54:48 UTC
As much as it sucks, I think it's a good idea to live at home and save some money. Speaking as the guy who jumped the gun on moving out, it sucks to have to choose between food or rent. Now, when you no longer have debt and have steady income, you are no longer allowed to mooch and you know it. But in the meantime, a few months with the only two people on earth who still see you in diapers is worth it for a little financial security.

I know.. but living with my parents is gradually wearing away my bohemianness. But, I think you're words are wise. I was thinking today back to college when I did infact worry about what I would be able to afford to eat that month, a few months of tuna salad and I'd be wishing I lived at home.

Still, it's frustrating how difficult it can be to feel like you're making financial progress, I feel like things will always come up to keep me from doing what I want.

You have no idea how tempting that sounds. But alas, I have a lease until July, and I'm starting to get used to it here.

Well, I don't really have a home right now, I spent some time at my Mom's house, some time at my Lady's house, some time at work, I don't really have a place to hang my hat..........or my football cards.

That sounds kinda tempting actually, I think it might be fun to live together again.....as long as we had a third party to blame things on. Let's call him "Herald" for now.
1)Me: "Goddammit Herald, turn your Ska music down, I'm tryin to sleep!"
2)You: Herald, keep your long flowing locks of golden hair out of the sink.........and your pubes.........and stop peeing in the sink!!!!!!!
3)You: Who wrote "JS" in Semen on my bed....HERALD!!!!
4)Me:Did someboby fall off the balcony drunk and leave a Jon shaped body mark in the yard, i'm lookin in your general direction Herald......ya dick.

Oh it'd be wonderful.

5) Me: Damnit Herald! Your pizza-dough mountain is oozing grease all over the livingroom!
6) You: Christ Herald, get out of the fucking shower it's been 45 minutes
7) You: Who's that masturbating while I'm trying to sleep? HerrAALD!
8) Me: Herald... Where did my martini glasses and refried beans go? ... And why is Jason passed out on the floor? ... And what the fuck is that smell?

Herald will have a lotta 'splanin to do.

I would live with you again in a second Jason. It would be kind of funny to live together and talk about our imaginary roommate to people. Summer is coming, it's time for illegal campfires, zany projects and hijinx.

Did you ever make a final cut of your movie?

If you want to move back to Omaha, Tom the Asshole has put the Chocolate City up for sale. The going price: $116,000. There is only one man who would dare put a house up for sale on Lincoln for $116K.

That does seem like a lot, the CC was in pretty good shape physically, but I don't suspect that area has gentrified much since we left.

Thought about buying it? What's your exit strategy?

I have thought about buying it. Of course, since I have no money or credit, my thoughts remain purely theoretical. However, I have always wanted to own investment property. My exit strategy would include American Family Insurance and a rusty can of kerosene.

Hey, do you want to invest in a payday advance-type company? Total goldmine. Plus, we could undercut our competitors and help the poor (sort of) with a less exorbitant interest rate. I'm thinking somewhere in the range of 11-14%. Even though it's 100% evil, I'm only half kidding.

Why is it every lawyer's dream to own an empire of small businesses?

Is it because all lawyers are really chasing the dream of retiring at 40?

A more friendly check cashing service sounds like a good idea, though I wonder if it could be done on a much leaner margin and still survive all the check fraud. Do you know much about how the current check advance places work?

I don't have any credit, and very little money, but I'd be happy to contribute some mental capital.

got anything lined up after graduation?

What's happenin Jon?

Let me know when you're in town next time man, we'll smoke a doobie together and watch some cartoons. I think I might be moving out soon. I think it's destiny that we'll end up living together again somehow my friend, I can feel it in my bones.
