I just heard that a boss at Merrill Lynch spent over a million dollars to have his office re-done. That kind of greed just makes me so mad. We are in a recession. His company is asking the taxpayers for billion dollar bailouts.... he spent like $60,000 on a rug... a fucking rug... COME ON! How is nobody doing anything about this? Worst part is it probably didn't even phase this guy.

I think it's true, that we can't really call ourselves civilized until all people in our society are taken care of.

Eh, not necessarily. A capitalist republic could totally do that too, it's just political.

again i agree... on both comments... it seems like just recently being a communist has been brought back as this horrible thing. i'm not a communist, but i really like a lot of things about socialism. it really freaks people out... i don't enjoy freaking people out the way i did when i was a teenager, but i seem to do it all the time anyway. oh well.

I just think that's an absolutely exorbitant amount of money to spend on nothing more meaningful than redoing an office...What was the rug made of that it was so expensive? Chinchillas?

Having said that, I've just spend a frightening amount of money on a new suit..But that's different ;)

you got a new suit? i need a suit. is it cool? i bought a few thermal shirts today and a pair of sweatpants... i never shop but i had a little extra money and needed some new clothes.

i can't wait to see the suit.
and yes, it is very cold here. it was below zero with the wind chill last night and i think it might be colder tonight. i was in the car earlier. it was quite cold.
i can't wait till spring when i bring out the reggae albums and drive around with all the windows down. you know its spring when jymi takes out the reggae...(:
