I've only had a chance to read this once so far and rather quickly but I can already tell I love this chapter! Expect a longer, more thoughtful comment later when I get to read it again.

Thanks so much for reading it once! I don't seem to be writing to the fandom's squee here, but I'm still having fun. The last chapter is almost complete, and I'm not sure I'll be writing more OUAT, but that in no way diminishes my love of the series, these characters, or the Cult of the Glorious Tie ♥

It's something I've noticed in fandom generally, not just OUAT. Gen stories don't get as many comments as the smut heavy fics. Just one of those things. Just keep writing as long as you're having fun. I do.

Thank you :-) The thing is, I don't consider this fic to be gen - I don't as a rule name body parts to any significant degree, but I've always written fic with a fair amount of smut included. I think it's more about the way I see the Rumbelle dynamic, and that's fine. I'm not one to deny anyone their squee, and it is what it is :-) I just miss "talking" about the squee in comments, so thanks again ♥

Oh baby, it's all long moans, aw=s and oh my word=s.

"grinning with teeth that are far too sharp, eyes hidden beneath a wild-wind tangle, his fingers lacing lightning into cat’s cradle patterns of fire." Sometimes, you've said, can I have this about my words (and lord, do I swell with triumphant pride then!), but babycakes, this line I would steal, do violence or magic for, maybe not unto my immortal soul, but pretty close by. This made Rumplestiltskin appear in my living room, miz d--put the damn man in my house, was that strong. To the smell of him for pity's sake ( ... )

Bless you, my dear sister from another family :-) I'm delighted that Rumpelstiltskin could pay you a visit. I'm totally serious about stealing your words, better watch close - pirate.

The Queen, the Queen. That character is so very, very well crafted, and Lana Parilla just sinks in her teeth and doesn't let go. You're right, she's too damaged to find her way home, but she's still trying, and that's heartbreaking on some level. Plus - EVIL. Someone's gotta do it, for the show to work.

Carlyle's voice is one of the world's great wonders.

Love. It's that simple and that complicated, and all that matters in the end is whether it's in your life or it isn't, and what you pay either way.

Thank you, darlin' sis, for existing. I take comfort in that. And, in a little single malt Scotch on the side ♥

P.S. - Just saw JD on the MTV awards, playing Gold on the Ceiling with the Black Keys. Holy moly, the man is frelling amazing. Still. Always. Guh.

There's something in his voice, the way he turns his head a bit to the side and almost makes you lean forward to catch his words--you named it a great wonder. I was really put off by the little giggley thing he does and now it's become almost erotic to me, like it refers to some wonderous nasty we've shared or could share ( ... )

Your comments are like a bottomless pitcher of margaritas, cher - and I love your words, you do such spinny, evocative things in turning a phrase ( ... )

A kindness of ravens, a murder of crows - is this you? a kindness of ravens? I'm tending toward it being you...

Oh, this is lovely! What a rousing story; of course Emma is unsure of where she is - and of course Rumpelstiltskin is inconveniently still imprisoned - returned to his point of origin. Emma is still quite powerful, though, and she has a history with Gold - at least more of a history than she has with all the random extras who are gathering around and twittering over things she doesn't understand...what she does understand is the responsibility to assure her son's well-being and the fact that Gold is a parent as well.

A skein of geese, a charm of hummingbirds, a colony of gulls, a parliament of owls...I would love to reincarnate as a kindness of a ravens :-) They're social and intelligent and then there's the flyyyyiiing!

I loved writing Emma and Gold/Rumpelstiltskin, and she would feel a bit lost in the Enchanted Forest, I think. She'll have finally found her family, but that and the world of magic are all brand new to her. I think she would understand Rumpelstiltskin's motives for doing what he's done, though she might not condone his methods.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting ♥

Okay I've had a chance to read it more carefully and I have a longer comment for you! And of course I was going to read it more than once. You pack so much into a short chapter I need to read a few times to pick up the references and enjoy the rhythm of your language.

All that he loves stands behind him, and love’s betrayal is all that can save them.

I love this. This where I was hoping you were going with the story - that he needed to fulfill his end of a bargain with Regina and it only seemed he was betraying them all. That is also something I hope for him on the show and something I think happened in the finale though obviously he is not nearly as clear or self-sacrificing on the show so far.

He knows how to recognize a desperate soul, how to sink his teeth into pain’s throat and shake until fangs meet bone. Knows how to sing the words soft, relentless, his lips nearly brushing Regina’s frost-pale cheek.*flails* This is one of my favorite lines! Rumpelstiltskin is such a dangerous man it takes my breath away sometimes that ( ... )

I hope so, too; I do believe he would sacrifice himself for Bae and Belle at this point. Maybe not for the greater good, since the world kicked him in the teeth so thoroughly and so often before becoming the Dark One. I don't see much in his experience since that would heal those wounds. Still, he knows who Belle and Bae want him to be, and I think that has considerable power.

A dangerous man, lord, yes, and driven by the fear that led him to dark magic in the first place, which makes him...even more dangerous. He's definitely very clear in his contracts, and I'm sure Emma's favor is yet to be called in - can't wait to see what he asks.

Writing is something I do because I want to, pretty much have to once the story starts talking. It isn't so much the lack of response to this story, although I won't lie, comments are rewarding. I know I'm not really pushing ( ... )
