I love the language, the snark, the unabashed lust...and this:
Jack leans backward into darkness, and once again the light offers magic, bars of motley colour to dance across his chest and a shadow to veil his eyes. The smirk below tempts Norrington’s fist, but rum soothes the impulse - another pull on the bottle, and he begins the tale.
There's the appeal. Right there.

I loved their scenes together in COTBP and DMC, and I've always wanted to write Sparrington. The line you picked out is an allusion to Christie's Mr. Quin, one of my favorite characters in her work :-)
